This was on Wednesday 5th July 2017 at St Martin’s Institute.
The design was a boxed hand tied floral bouquet which could be given as a gift.
The flowers used were small peach gladioli, red anthuriums, lime green lady’s mantle and yellow tansy. Aspidistra and camellia leaves provided the supporting foliage. The bouquet was wrapped in cellophane and placed in a box (blue, yellow or lilac colours were used) which was decorated with a ribbon bow.
The flowers were conditioned by removing all leaves which would be in the water as well as any others that were not in pristine condition. The aspidistra was wired into loops. Once the bouquet was completed, we got down to the business of making the ribbon bows to decorate the boxes.
A big thank you goes to the helpers and assistants who made sure that we had the necessary flowers, foliage and sundries to hand and organised the raffle and the refreshments. The latter were greatly enjoyed at the end of the class.
