Fr Ericcson was officially welcomed as our curate on Sunday 14th July when he took his first Mass service. He prayerfully guided us through the service and delivered a thought-provoking sermon on the meaning of “who is our neighbour” based on the Gospel reading for the morning, Luke 10:25-37. He welcomed everyone to the communion rail to take communion from him or receive a blessing. He looked calm and composed throughout, whether this was how he was feeling or not! We look forward to his ministry with us here at St Martin’s.
After the service, refreshments were served at the Institute. It was a happy and enjoyable occasion. On behalf of the clergy and congregation, Revd Jane presented him with a pyx (an engraved communion wafer tin) which Fr Ericcson may use if he has to take communion out to people who are unwell at home or housebound.
Our best wishes and prayers go with him during his time at St Martin’s.
